Safeguarding and employment checks

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents is of paramount importance.  Care Home residents are vulnerable adults who may not be able to support themselves due to age, illness or disability. We carry out full and thorough checks on all our employees before they start working for us. These checks are not just for care and nursing staff but those in all auxiliary roles, including maintenance, catering, housekeeping and administration.

All employment at Country Court is offered subject to satisfactory employment checks, including previous employer references, and all staff who have direct contact with our residents will be required to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (if applicable). 

What an Enhanced DBS Check Includes
  • Criminal Record Information: 
    This includes all known convictions, cautions, reprimands, warnings, and other police information deemed relevant. 
  • Barred List Checks: 
    This is a check against the adult's barred list to determine if the applicant is specifically prohibited from working with adults
