Walberton Place Care Home Supports Resident’s Wish to Visit LEGOLAND

Walberton Place Care Home near Arundel, recently had the joy of helping a resident, Mark, fulfill his wish with a memorable trip to LEGOLAND. Supported by the care team, Mark spent a fantastic day exploring the world-famous park in Windsor , enjoying the intricately crafted miniature LEGO sculptures, and even braving a few rides.

The Make a Wish initiative at Walberton Place, part of the Country Court group, is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for residents. From boat trips and book launches to off-road driving and family tea parties, this program is a vital aspect of Walberton Place’s person-centred care approach. Staff take the time to understand each resident's unique hobbies and interests, tailoring activities to match their individual preferences.

"We are all thrilled to have been a part of making this wish come true"

This special day was the result of a heartfelt discussion between Mark and Walberton Place’s Home Manager, Edmalyn Cosigna, who helped make his dream visit to LEGOLAND a reality. Mark’s family and a carer from the home accompanied him, ensuring he felt fully supported and cared for throughout his adventure.

“Mark had an absolutely wonderful time at LEGOLAND,” said Edmalyn Cosigna. “It was fantastic to see his excitement, and we are all thrilled to have been a part of making this wish come true. These moments are so important, and it’s a privilege to support residents in fulfilling their dreams.”

Mark, who has already started planning his next adventure, said he can’t wait to see more places in the future. The team at Walberton Place Care Home is dedicated to providing meaningful experiences like this, bringing happiness and enrichment to all residents.
