Summer fun day with dog show at Moat House Care Home

Moat House Care Home recently hosted its first summer fun day and dog show for residents, families, and the local community in Great Easton, Essex. The event featured live entertainment, delicious food, games, a dog show, and local stalls.

Summer fun with families, residents and local community -

"It was a lovely afternoon with families enjoying time together and experiencing something new at Moat House. We had The Big Voices Community Choir perform, which got everyone singing, followed by an Elvis tribute for a bit of contrast. It was wonderful to see everyone engaged," Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Kerry Pennock.

'Thank you to all our local stallholders for attending our summer event; U-Sweetie, Nick Nack stall by Amelia, Trinkets, and Pawfectionary' Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Kerry Pennock.

Customer Relations Manager George Byford highlighted the attractions at the summer fair: "We had a crepe van, hook a duck, a second-hand bookstall, and amazing raffle prizes, including race tickets to Chelmsford City Racecourse, a £70 beauty voucher from The Retreat Beauty and Holistic Center, a dog treat hamper, wine, sweets, a meat hamper voucher from Great Garnets Farm Shop, and a £15 voucher for Little Monsters."

"The entire Moat House team worked together to create a cherished event for our residents and the community. Thank you for all your hard work," added Home Manager Jade Smith.

The dogs time to shine -

'Our dog show included categories like Waggiest Tail, Prettiest Princess, Most Handsome Prince, Cutest Puppy, Most Appealing Face, Old Timer (8+ years), and Most Likely to Take Home.' Commented Home Administrator Harriet Fisk.

"Staff, family, and local community dogs were all welcome. The competition was thoroughly enjoyed, with the Most Handsome Prince category won by Dave, Home Manager Jade Smith's cocker spaniel. Our residents all served as judges, and a special moment was when resident Lily, who isn't very mobile, judged the Most Appealing Face category with the dogs coming to her," shared Customer Relations Manager George Byford.

Positivity all around -

"The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we raised an amazing £200 for our resident's comfort fund, which will go towards an extra special activity for our residents." Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Kerry Pennock.
