Residents and Staff at The Grange Care Home in Saffron Walden enjoyed a month of Oscars and film-themed activities. All residents were awarded a certificate and the winners of each category also received a personalised trophy. The afternoon was full of smiles and laughter as each resident at The Grange was celebrated.
‘At our Oscars afternoon, we had 9 different award categories, and they were: Best Gamer/Puzzler, Best Crafter, Best Achiever, Best Knitter, Most Helpful, Most Caring, Best Singer, Best Sense of Humour, and Best Smile. To help us present some of the award categories we sought the support of our residents’ loved ones who proudly accepted the role.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Yvonne Gray.
‘The award ceremony started with mocktails on arrival made by Housekeeper Emma Carter. Our wonderful Chef Manager Georgina Cross made us an Oscars-inspired cake. We decorated the lounge with a black, red, and gold theme and a very special red carpet was laid out centre stage for our residents to collect their awards. The whole atmosphere of the event felt amazing.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Deborah Lee.
‘We would like to say a very big well done to every resident, keep being the amazing individuals’ that you are. Thank you also to everyone who attended and supported our event.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Heather Patmore.
‘The team has done a wonderful job of creating such a family-filled event for our residents. It was lovely to see all our residents receiving their awards and the smiles on their faces afterward.’ Commented Home Manager Lijo Varghese.
