Moat House Care Home Hosts Christmas Fayre for local Community

Moat House Care Home in Great Easton recently held its annual Christmas Fayre, bringing together residents, staff, and the local community for a festive afternoon. The event offered a range of activities and attractions, creating an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the holiday season.

Visitors enjoyed browsing local market stalls with unique Christmas gifts, meeting Santa in his grotto, and sampling festive refreshments prepared by the care home’s kitchen team, including mulled wine, mince pies, and gingerbread. A Christmas tombola and live music with classic holiday songs added to the cheerful atmosphere.

The Fayre was also a chance for residents and the community to connect. In the lead-up to the event, residents worked on crafting decorations and reminiscing about Christmases past, which added a personal and meaningful touch to the day. The event highlighted the sense of community that defines life at Moat House.

Customer Relations Manager George Byford said, “It was fantastic to see so many people from the local area join us for the Christmas Fayre. Events like this mean a lot to our residents and staff, and it’s always great to bring people together. The support from the community was incredible, and we’re proud to share what makes Moat House such a special place.”

Wellbeing Coordinator Kerry Pennock also reflected on the success of the event, saying, “Our residents really enjoy these opportunities to connect with people from the wider community. It’s lovely to see how much joy they get from sharing their home and their festive preparations with others. For us as a team, the Christmas Fayre isn’t just about the day itself but also the sense of purpose and excitement it brings in the weeks leading up to it. From crafting decorations to baking festive treats, it’s been a truly collaborative effort, and the positive energy throughout the home has been wonderful.”

The team at Moat House expressed their thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event, emphasizing the value of staying connected to the local community.
