St John’s Care Home in Spalding, Lincolnshire were able to surprise resident Janet, who is 86, with a video message from Irish singer and TV presenter Daniel O’Donnell, making her wish come true.
Janet is a huge Daniel O’Donnell fan and as part of the Country Court ‘Make a Wish’ initiative, residents are given the opportunity to tell staff about somewhere they have always wanted to go or a special activity they have always wanted to do.
Whether it is something simple or more of a challenge, the staff go above and beyond to make as many wishes come true, and so the wonderful team at St John’s began contacting Daniel’s agent, explaining that Janet is a huge fan and that it was her wish to hear from Daniel, himself.
Before long they received a very special message from Daniel, especially for Janet and she was thrilled to hear from him, she loves all of his songs, and doesn’t have a favourite as she enjoys them all. She has been a huge fan of his, all her life but has never been able to ever get to see him perform so to receive a video message from him was so special.
