At Abbey Grange Care & Nursing Home in Sheffield, we are regularly reminded of the deep connections that form between our residents, their families, and our staff team. One of the most heart-warming examples of this was the story of Kath Titmarsh, a beloved resident who became an integral part of the Abbey Grange family.
'When Kath first arrived at Abbey Grange, her family faced the difficult challenge of choosing the right care home. Finding the best place for a loved one is never easy, but through time, open conversations, and a shared commitment to providing the best care, Kath’s family found peace knowing they had made the right decision. Kath quickly became a cherished member of our Abbey Grange family, and her warmth, kindness, and ever-present smile touched everyone who knew her.' Home Manager Kerry Peach shared.
Sadly, Kath passed away on 29th February 2024. As the one-year anniversary of her passing approached, her son Gamal wanted to do something meaningful in her memory. Although we had planned to hold a fundraiser for a defibrillator, Kath’s son made the incredibly generous decision to purchase the life-saving device himself, ensuring that Abbey Grange would be equipped with this vital piece of equipment for the future.
Home Manager Kerry Peach commented, “We are deeply grateful for this thoughtful donation. The defibrillator will certainly make a significant difference in the care we can provide, enhancing the safety and well-being of both our residents and staff. Knowing we’re prepared to respond quickly in an emergency brings us all peace of mind.”
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Kath’s son Gamal and family for their immense generosity,” Kerry continued. “Their kindness and support have made a lasting impact on Abbey Grange, and we will always remember their thoughtful contribution.”
