Residents and staff at Stanton Court Care Home in Stanton Drew near Bristol had a fantastic afternoon at the Stanton Drew Flower Festival. Staff manned their stall selling crafts that residents at the nursing and care home had been busy making throughout the weeks running up to the event.
“We love coming to the flower show” Said Home Manager, Wendy Perkins “It’s very important for our residents to continue to feel part of their local community and this is a great, fun way to be involved in village life”.
Well-being and Activity Coordinator Jessica Jones helped residents to make a variety of crafts to sell including cards, gift tags, pictures and photo frames. The stall raised over £50 for the resident’s Comfort Fund which is used to pay for day trips, special outings and entertainers. The nursing and care home entered their ‘Bill and Ben’ scarecrows and were delighted to take second place in the scarecrow category.
