‘The Christmas Fair featured a variety of festive activities and attractions, including a gingerbread icing table, crafting table, and Santa’s Grotto. Guests also enjoyed a selection of festive refreshments, such as mulled wine and mince pies, while trying their luck at the tombola, lucky dip, and raffle.’ Commented Wellbeing Coordinator Jessica Bennett.
Local businesses and organisations supported the event with stalls, including Katrina’s Happy Dogs, Lucy at Family Hands, a jewellery stall, a Thrapston Girl Guide fundraiser table, crochet crafts, chocolate wreaths, and personalised card stalls.
‘A highlight of the day was the carol singing, which brought everyone together in the spirit of Christmas. Residents, families, staff, and community members joined in singing classics like Silent Night, Away in a Manger, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Resident Pauline’s daughter, Sarah, accompanied the carols on piano, while her husband, Fred, performed a delightful skit based on The Twelve Days of Christmas that left everyone laughing.’ Commented Customer Relations Manager Jessica Grayson.
Feedback from guests emphasised the event’s success:
