Ferrars Hall Care Home Supports Local Charity Diamond Hampers with Festive Donations

Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon is proud to announce its continued partnership with local charity Diamond Hampers, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local community. Throughout November, the care home invited families, friends, and staff to contribute non-perishable food and personal care items, resulting in a generous trolley full of donations presented to volunteers Lucy and Ewan at The Pantry, part of Diamond Hampers.

The initiative highlights Ferrars Hall’s dedication to building strong ties with the local community. By engaging residents’ families, friends, and care home staff, the care home has led a meaningful effort to spread kindness and support to those in need this festive season.

Susan Dunnell, Home Manager at Ferrars Hall Care Home, commented:

"At Ferrars Hall, we are always looking for ways to make a positive impact on our local community. Supporting Diamond Hampers is something we are incredibly passionate about, as their work touches the lives of so many people. It has been wonderful to see everyone at the care home come together for such an important cause, and we’re proud to be able to play a part in supporting families in need this Christmas."

Katie Peters, Senior Customer Relations Manager at Ferrars Hall, shared her enthusiasm for the collaboration:

"It is a pleasure to be supporting Diamond Hampers again this year, especially during the festive period, which can be a particularly stressful time for many. Diamond Hampers provides such a valuable service to our local community, and Ferrars Hall wanted to play an active role in supporting their efforts. Organising a food bank gave friends and families of the home an opportunity to come together and contribute to a cause that truly makes a difference. It was heartwarming to see the generosity of everyone involved."

Diamond Hampers was founded nearly six years ago by Lianne Simpson to address food insecurity and dignity gaps in the Huntingdon area. Over the past three years, the charity has expanded its impact through The Pantry and The Attic stores, which provide affordable food and essential items for local residents.

Katie added:

"Community is at the heart of everything we do at Ferrars Hall. Beyond providing exceptional care to our residents, we believe in actively supporting the wider Huntingdon community through initiatives like this. It’s about working together to create meaningful change and showing that, collectively, we can make a real difference. Whether it’s organising donations or participating in local events, we are committed to being a positive force in the community."

Ferrars Hall care home regularly hosts events, collaborates with local businesses and charities, and encourages residents to maintain strong connections with the outside world.
