Residents at Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home hosted a community coffee morning to showcase their newly refurbished care and nursing home. Visitors enjoyed refreshments and entertainment as they toured the newly refurbished and extended facilities.
‘The coffee morning was a great opportunity for friends and relatives who missed our open day back in February to see how our home has grown and changed. Everyone seemed to love the extension and were positive about our home’s future’ commented Home Manager Vimal Samuel.
Summer Lane Care & Nursing Home now has its own pub, two newly refurbished lounge and dining areas, an entertainment suite, a private dining room, and a bistro café. The extension has created an additional seventeen bedrooms, all with en-suite walk-in shower rooms, taking the capacity of the home to one hundred and twenty residents.
At the coffee morning friends, relatives, and residents enjoyed a live singer who performed songs from throughout the years. ‘Residents thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere that the coffee morning brought within their home and loved listening to the live entertainment with wonderful cakes which followed made by Chef Manager David McCartney and his staff team.’ Commented activity coordinator Jane Day.
The coffee morning was the perfect moment to show appreciation for the staff team at Summer Lane by presenting their employee of the month winners with their well-deserved awards. Awards were presented to Tracey Reed, Receptionist, and Norlinda Hoxha, Housekeeper. ‘The staff team was delighted that Country Court Chairman Abdul Kachra was there to present them with their employee of the month award. They appreciated his gratitude for their continuous hard work’ commented Home Administrator Lin O’Donovan.
‘Our coffee morning was a huge success, and we hope to hold many more like it in the months to come’ commented Home Manager Vimal Samuel.
