Caroline Ignatius and her team from Devika Care Company recently celebrated a very special milestone—their first year of hosting day centre sessions at Ferrars Hall Care Home in Huntingdon. These sessions are close to Caroline’s heart, created in memory of her beloved mother, Devika, whose kindness and love continue to inspire everything the team does. Caroline’s personal journey as a caregiver led her to start Devika Day Centres, where those living with dementia can find friendship, support, and joy in a safe, welcoming space.

Caroline’s personal journey as a caregiver led her to start Devika Day Centres, where those living with dementia can find friendship, support, and joy in a safe, welcoming space.
To mark the occasion, attendees enjoyed a wonderful day of activities, a light lunch, and a lively afternoon with The Singing Gardener, who had everyone tapping their toes and singing along. The laughter and smiles were a true celebration of the friendly, joyful atmosphere that Caroline and her team work hard to create every week.
These sessions offer much more than activities—they’re a place where people come together, make new friends, and feel a real sense of belonging. Because the Wednesday sessions have been so popular, the Devika Care Company team has now introduced a second day, running every Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Reflecting on the past year, Caroline said, “We’re thrilled to celebrate our first year at Ferrars Hall and even more excited to expand with a second weekly session. Country Court has been so supportive in providing this wonderful space, allowing us to reach even more people in the community who are living with dementia. It’s been such a rewarding journey, and every step is in honour of my lovely mum, Devika.”
The Devika Day Centres continue to grow, bringing extra warmth and companionship to those who need it most. With Caroline’s heartfelt dedication and a supportive team, these centres are making a real difference in people’s lives, one friendly gathering at a time.
