Hermitage House Care Home in Thrapston was transformed into a festive wonderland this month for their Christmas Fair. The home saw around 150 local people attend from the town and surrounding villages. On the day there were local business stall holders, live entertainment, a Santa grotto, and festive food and drink throughout.
‘It was a truly magical family day out for our local community and our residents. I have to say a great moment for our residents was getting everyone together to sing their favourite Christmas carols. It gave me goosebumps seeing everyone get together and having such a lovely time with their loved ones’ Commented Home Manager Clare Hedge.
' I would like to thank everyone who supported us at our Christmas Fair. I would also like to share our appreciation to our stall holders who had a pitch on the day; ENK Funky Crafts, Charity Knits, Glutter Luxe, Devika, Love is Sweet enjoy a treat, our tombola, our gingerbread decorating table & Santa’s grotto. Due to everyone’s hard work, we had a successful event.’ Commented Customer Relations Manager Sarah-Beth Preston.
The festive event attracted positive feedback such as ‘It’s a lovely atmosphere, warm and lively.’ and ‘The Santas grotto is outstanding and the attention to detail is brilliant.'
‘Food at the event was also a massive hit. We had mince pies, sausage rolls and hot chocolate, teas/coffees/cold drinks & Christmas cookies.’ Commented Client Services Manager Gyalbo Tamang.
‘One comment that stood out to me was from the parents of twin girls. They said that we were the first visit to Father Christmas they’d ever done so it was a big moment for them, and they loved their experience. I’m very glad we could make their first experience super special and personal.’ Commented Home Administrator Jess Grayson.
‘We managed to raise nearly £500 which will go towards extra activities and additional day trips. We also had so much praise, and the community of Thrapston thoroughly enjoyed it. We can’t wait to see what next year brings for events at Hermitage House.’ Commented Home Manager Clare Hedge.
