Carpenders Park Care Home, located near Watford, recently hosted its first Summer Fair, bringing together residents, families, and the local community. The event was a great success, with over £300 raised for the residents' comfort fund, which will support an extra special activity for them.
Senior Customer Relations Manager, Laura Mills commented:
"More than 50 people from our local community attended the Summer Fair. I'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the stallholders who took part and to those who generously donated prizes for our raffle."
Interim Home Manager, Julie Wicks, shared her thoughts on the event:
"It was a fantastic afternoon, filled with fun activities for our guests, including target practice with an inflatable dartboard, Giant Connect 4, hoopla, and tug-of-war. Our residents especially loved the live singer who performed hits from the 1950s, getting everyone, residents and guests alike, up and dancing."
Support Manager, Natalie White, also commented on the day:
"Our Chef Manager, Grzegorz Wolosz, and his team really outdid themselves, serving a delicious BBQ and homemade cakes that received glowing feedback from our guests. We're already excited for our next event and can't wait to welcome everyone back!"
To continue their fundraising efforts, Carpenders Park Care Home is hosting another event:
"Join us next month on Wednesday 16th October, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for cake and a cuppa to raise funds for Dementia UK," added Laura Mills.
