Camberwell Lodge Care and Nursing Home in Southwark recently showcased its commitment to the Residential Care Charter, established by Southwark Council. This significant partnership underlines a shared dedication to care standards within the borough, focusing on enhancing the lives of residents and staff.
Launched in 2022 by Southwark Council, the Residential Care Charter is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving working terms and conditions for all residential care providers in the borough. It promises to enhance care worker standards, leading to improved working conditions and superior care quality for the community's most vulnerable.
Camberwell Lodge is among the first care and nursing homes in the borough to align with the Charter, signalling a bold step forward in enriching care practices. The Charter goes above and beyond the standards set by the Care Quality Commission, with Southwark Council outlining expectations for safe, high-quality care.
In January, Camberwell Lodge hosted a memorable plaque unveiling ceremony led by Councillor Evelyn Akoto and Alykhan Kachra, Co-CEO of Country Court the parent company of Camberwell Lodge.
Adding to the celebrations, staff and residents from Camberwell Lodge recently attended a special event at Southwark Council Head Office in Tooley Street. Joined by other care providers who have also embraced the Charter, this event showcased the commitment to elevating residential care standards across Southwark.
Home Manager Lauren Gordon commented.
“These celebrations showcased our commitment to the well-being and safety of our residents. It was wonderful to stand alongside other care providers, demonstrating our unified pledge to better care standards.”
