Residents and staff at Abbey Grange Care & Nursing Home in Sheffield recently celebrated 40 years of Country Court with a big party at the home. Families of the home past and present were also invited to join in on the celebrations.
Residents, staff and families enjoyed a speech by Reverend Sally to start the party by remembering past residents, she discussed the evolution of Country Court and thanked all the staff for their continuous hard work. ‘I want you all to join me in taking a moment to thank all of the staff here at Abbey Grange for their compassion, kindness and love’.
‘Everyone enjoyed some live entertainment by a special guest Bollywood dancer. Staff members’ and residents’ John & Margaret joined in on the dancing by learning the moves. They even added in some traditional scarf dancing. Margaret smiled through it all and loves any opportunity to dance’ Commented Well-being Coordinator Michael.
‘We prepared a delicious buffet for everyone to enjoy with canopies and drinks to start followed by a BBQ. with delicious, sweet treat and fruit for the chocolate fountain to follow. Everyone was delighted with everything we provided, and we received lots of compliments on the food’. Commented Chef Manager Louise.
‘Residents and their families loved the live entertainment, especially the singer. Residents Margaret and Peter showed off their best dance moves with the singer commenting ‘When I was in my 60’s I couldn’t even move like that!’ Said Well-being Coordinator Sharon.
‘Our 40-year celebrations have been a huge success. From remembering past residents and sharing this special event with their families to celebrating the continuous hard work of all the staff here has been brilliant. I have loved watching everyone have a wonderful time today and show what a big family we are here at Abbey Grange’ Commented Home Manager Kerry Peach.
